Leonie Lamb Photography
Deciding on my business name was difficult, I first of all chose Little Lambs Photography. I then thought if I'm branching out into wedding and event photography Little lamb Photography sounds quite babyish. Like I should be only specialising in children and baby photography. So I then thought just keep it simple and have my own name as the business name.
Choosing Wix as my web builder to create my own professional business page, I was able to choose a template site and make changes to it to put my own mark on the page.
I was able to change the font and font size, change background designs and menu tabs to suit the genre of my website. I went for a more modern feel to the website and opted for a triangle geometric design for the background. The colour scheme is grey, black and white as I felt these colours went with anything I decided to put on the site.
Adding my social media logos I was able to add a link on them so it directs you to the pages, this makes it easier to gather followers and gain more potential customers. After the images were selected on to each category I then had to go into the settings and change a few things. First of all I had to change the image titles as whatever the image was saved as shows up when you hover over the image. Secondly I could change the image size to fit the size of the image box or let some of the image to be cropped. On the site you are able to animate the images and titles but I chose against this as I didn't want the page to look like a gimmick, I wanted a more professional modern look.
The above images are the original website I transformed to be my own. As you can see I changed everything to be my own. The webpage was neutral with pastel brown colours throughout the pages, fonts were old typewriter fonts so looked dated. I transformed the page considerably from the look at beginning, this gives me an advantage by owning my own website. Its more ideal for clients to look me up, I can also add to the page as my photography progresses.
The building of the page was straight forward and very easy to use, I didn't buy my own domain I chose to stay with the free one for now. To buy my domain name it would of cost £130 for 2 years with the cost to be paid upfront. I think this is something I will decide to do when I start to make more money.
Below are previews of my website:
